What does a board commitment look like?
Members of the board of directors serve a two year term with the opportunity to stay on for additional terms.
We attend monthly board meetings.
We vote on important decisions, approve budgets, and ensure the organization is fulfilling its mission and legal obligations.
We’re volunteer powered (no staff - yet!), so we often handle day-to-day operations like fundraising, program management, marketing, and admin work.
We carry out the directives and strategies set by the board.
We typically serve on at least one committee, taking on specific responsibilities related to finance, programs, fundraising, etc.
We act as ambassadors, promoting the nonprofit's mission and helping to secure resources.
We prioritize our organization in our charitable giving every year, understanding that everyone’s ability to do so is different.
We help identify donors, write grant proposals, and directly solicit funds.
We take on roles typically filled by employees, such as volunteer coordination or program delivery.
What does the application process look like?
Those interested should submit their application by September 30, 2024.
A nominating committee will review applications and make recommendations to the full board.
After applying and if time allows, we may schedule an informal chat over coffee before moving forward with your potential nomination.
If selected, new board members will begin their term in January 2025.
